The text of this Guide has been prepared in accordance with the wishes of the Firefighters' Pensions Committee and the Communications Working Group.
The brief was to prepare a simple, short guide which complied with the requirements of Regulation 4 and Schedule 1 of the Occupational Pension Schemes (Disclosure of Information Regulations) 1996 and any subsequent Regulations setting out the basic information to be provided to Scheme members. It was requested that the format should be such that a fire and rescue authority could take the text as offered and need do no more than "badge" it, and add local contact details.
The Word document containing the text can be downloaded below. It has been formatted into twenty-four A4 pages. Consequently it can be printed on to six A3, backed, pages, placed in a cover of the authority's own design (a template is offered), and centre-stapled.
On page 24 there is a place for the FRA to add contact details and any other local information it feels appropriate.
The Word document containing the text can be downloaded below. It has been formatted as a single-sided A4 page.
