Part F deals with the reckoning of pensionable service and gives a right of appeal where there is a dispute (Rule F1).
Particular categories of service which can count are covered in Rules F2 to F5 – the payments which may be due are set out in Schedule 6, Part I and in G2A in the case of maternity and adoption leave.
Rule F6 refers to the detailed arrangements for reckoning War Service as contained in Schedule 7.
Rules F6A and F6B are special provisions relating to the mis-selling of personal pensions allowing restitution of lost FPS service in certain circumstances.
Rule F7 allows fire and rescue authorities to accept transfer value payments in respect of pension rights from previous pension schemes – the resulting pensionable service is calculated under Schedule 6 Part II.
Rule F8 provides for payment of transfer values between fire and rescue authorities (before 1 April 2006) or Scottish and Welsh fire and rescue authorities (on and from 1 April 2006) – calculated under Schedule 6 Part III.
Rule F9 deals with other circumstances in which a transfer value may be payable.
